I heard one today &#8211; <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/web-admin\/phrases\/bulletin_board\/5\/messages\/1127.html\">sent to Coventry<\/a><\/i> &#8211; it means being left out of the communication loop.  These idiomatic expressions don&#8217;t really travel well.
